Diffusion Reflectors (DR-I)

An acrylic reflector sheet designed to improve brightness and uniformity in ambient-lit display applications.

CLAREX DR-I Diffusion Reflectors are acrylic sheets with a reflective textured surface that helps improve light distribution behind ambient-lit displays. They have traditionally been used behind LCDs and similar display assemblies to support better brightness and viewing uniformity without internal illumination.

While this material is less common in newer display designs, it is still used for replacement parts in legacy systems and for select specialty applications where ambient-light display performance remains important.

Benefits of DR-I Light Diffusing Acrylic

Helps improve brightness and viewing uniformity in a variety of display applications.

Designed with a textured reflective surface that helps distribute ambient light more effectively behind the display.

A practical option for replacing reflector components in older display systems that still rely on ambient-light viewing.

Well-suited for select display and visual applications where ambient-light performance and reflective control are important.

Can be cut to size for replacement parts and custom display applications.

Available in multiple colors and appearance options to match different design requirements.

Common DR-I Diffusion Reflectors Applications

Designed for applications that need controlled reflection, improved light distribution, and consistent visual performance.

DR-I color samples

A practical option for replacing reflective elements in older LCD and ambient-lit display assemblies.

Useful for applications that need a reflective surface to improve visibility, contrast, or light return.

Well-suited for prototype builds, mockups, and early-stage concepts where reflective performance or appearance needs to be evaluated.

A good fit for fabricated reflective parts used in specialty display or visual assemblies.

Suitable for select reflective components used behind dials, gauges, or visual readouts.

Can be used in demonstration pieces and display models that benefit from a reflective acrylic surface.

Customization

Custom sheets & parts to meet the needs of your applications.

Build your own sheets. Do you have a unique design requirement that cannot be met with off-the-shelf UV filter sheet materials? CLAREX acrylic can be fully customized and produced from low-volume runs to mass production. Select thickness, formulation, additives, pigments, textures, surface coatings, and optical coatings to create thin acrylic sheets tailored to your application.

Typical lead time is 4–8 weeks. Finished parts and assemblies can also be fabricated to specification.
