Low Transmission Light Diffusers (DR-IIISX)

Low transmission acrylic diffusers designed to sit directly in front of high-bright LEDs with minimal gap.

CLAREX DR-IIISX diffusers are cast acrylic sheets made with light-scattering particles, white pigments, and heavy matte textures on both sides. They are designed to reduce hot spots and improve uniformity in direct-backlit applications where bright LEDs are placed close to the diffuser.

With transmission options ranging from 5% to 40%, DR-IIISX diffusers can be selected to achieve the desired balance of diffusion, brightness control, and hiding power. For higher-transmission applications, consider CLAREX DR-IIICX bulk diffusers.

Benefits of Low Transmission Light Diffusers

Available as thin as 0.5 mm while blocking up to 95% of light and providing effective diffusion.

Transmission and diffusion remain consistent regardless of material thickness.

Helps reduce hot spots and create more even illumination when used in front of high-bright LEDs.

Available in light transmission levels from 5% to 40% in 5% increments.

Designed for use directly in front of bright LEDs where space between the light source and diffuser is limited.

Can be customized with features such as HiTemp formulations, fabricated finished parts, and other CLAREX options.

Common Diffuser Applications

Formulated to be used directly in front of bright LEDs with limited gap.

A good fit for backlit displays with bright LEDs positioned close to the diffuser, helping reduce hot spots, control light output, and create more uniform surface brightness

Well-suited for automotive, industrial, and electronic displays where consistent brightness, clean icon visibility, and a uniform visual appearance are important.

Can be used behind illuminated symbols, status indicators, and icons where controlled transmission and even diffusion are needed.

Suitable for space-limited designs that require effective diffusion and light attenuation in thin materials with minimal distance between the light source and diffuser

Customization

Custom diffuser sheets & parts to meet the needs of your applications.

Need a diffusion filter that meets specific transmission, thickness, or performance requirements? CLAREX DR-III SX Diffusers can be customized for display, lighting, and backlit applications that require strong hiding power, uniform brightness, and controlled light output in a thin acrylic sheet.

Select from transmission levels from 5% to 40% in 5% increments, thicknesses as thin as 0.5 mm, and custom options such as HiTemp formulations, fabricated finished parts, and application-specific sheet configurations.

Typical lead time is 4–8 weeks. Finished parts and assemblies can also be fabricated to specification.
