CLAREX High Scatter Optical Transmission Light Guides (HSOT)

Clear acrylic with special light scattering particles loaded in to create a sheet of material that will light up when edge-lit.

CLAREX HSOT Light Guide sheets are made custom by loading light scattering particles into clear cast acrylic sheets. The type and density of particles used is adjusted based on the application. The result is a sheet of material that will light up when edge-lit.

This type of see-thru light guide is useful for applications where the light guide sits in front of the display, such as E-Ink. Since the HSOT light guide could emit light out of the front and rear surfaces, it could be used for signage if you need to light up both the front and rear side of the light box. And finally, the HSOT material could be machined into unique shapes and lit up, for applications such as pointers in a gauge.
