Textured, Non-Glare Acrylic Sheets (NG)
Optimizes display readability by diffusing reflections in bright environments.
CLAREX non-glare (NG), also referred to as anti-glare (AG) or reduced-glare (RG), acrylic sheets are engineered to diffuse reflections in bright environments so displays and graphics stay easier to read. Unlike surface-applied coatings, CLAREX uses cast-in textures that deliver controlled, repeatable surface performance across a range of gloss levels tailored to different applications.
Non-glare textures can be applied to one or both sides, and each side does not need to match. CLAREX can also apply its standard hard coat (6–8H pencil hardness) without filling in the texture, improving scratch resistance while maintaining the intended finish.
Benefits of CLAREX Non-Glare Acrylic Sheets
Clear, High-Quality Optical Performance
Maintains clean, accurate visuals without double refraction, image splitting, or unwanted distortion.
Reduced Glare and Reflections
Diffuses reflected light to reduce harsh glare, distracting reflections, and bright hotspots.
Improved Readability & Image Clarity
Enhances the visibility of letters, figures, images, and display content in high-light environments.
Reduced Newton Rings
Helps minimize or eliminate Newton Ring interference in layered display applications where materials may come into close contact.
Outdoor-Ready Durability
Provides excellent weatherability for long-term performance in outdoor displays, signs, and viewing applications.
Custom Optical & Coating Options
Transmission, color, texture, scratch resistance, and optical coatings can be configured to meet specific display requirements.
Note: Non-glare sheets may appear hazy when held up to view. This haze diminishes as the gap between the sheet and the display is reduced, making NG sheets well-suited for direct-view display applications. For camera, sensor, or imaging use cases, consider CLAREX anti-reflective sheet options.
Common Non-Glare Acrylic Sheet Applications
Configured for applications where reflected light can reduce readability, comfort, or visual quality.
Protective Windows & Viewing Panels
Used for clear protective covers, windows, and panels where glare reduction and optical clarity are both important.
Flat Panel Displays
Helps improve readability and viewing comfort in display covers, monitor overlays, and other flat panel display applications.
Kiosks & Interactive Displays
Suitable for public-facing screens, information terminals, and touch-adjacent display covers where reflections can interfere with usability.
Instrument & Control Panels
Used in operator interfaces, gauges, control panels, and equipment displays where visibility is important under variable lighting.
Signs & Information Displays
Reduces distracting reflections on signs, directories, wayfinding displays, and other public-facing information panels.
Layered Display Assemblies
Helps reduce Newton Ring interference where acrylic is placed close to another display or viewing surface.
Exhibit & Retail Displays
Used for display covers, museum exhibits, and retail fixtures where clear viewing and reduced glare are both important.

Non-Glare Gloss Levels
- Low Gloss (<10): Heavy matte for light diffusion and aesthetic finishes
- Medium Gloss (30–70): Most common; ideal for flat panel display cover sheets to reduce glare in bright environments
- High Gloss (>70): Helpful when there’s a larger gap between the display and the non-glare filter
- Very High Gloss (90+): Very faint texture. Mainly used to reduce Newton Rings with minimal haze
